A recent survey of top U.S. real estate performers conducted jointly by The Wall Street Journal and Real Trends magazine ranks Clarksville's The Vaughn Team of Keller Williams Realty as one of the country's 50 best .
The Vaughn Team — consisting of 12 "team members" led by Maurice and Terri Vaughn, Amanda Vaughn and Jon Vaughn — is ranked 45th on the list of the nation's leading performers based on total number of transactions for 2005.

The local agents, based at 2271 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., checked in with nearly 367 transactions, in a category led by a San Diego, Calif., realtor who posted 1,676 sales for the year.

WSJ and Real Trends described those making the top 50 as "residential real estate's elite — agents who are easily in the top one percent of the top one percent of real estate professionals in America."

That's impressive, the two publications jointly stated, considering now more than 1.35 million full- and part-time real estate agents are registered in the U.S., according to the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials.
For Maurice Vaughn, who's been in the business for nearly 23 years, the ranking is reason for celebration for The Vaughn Team and Keller Williams Realty International, it certainly reflects the overall strength of the Clarksville real estate industry on a national level.

Now, with Fort Campbell troops home from Iraq, The Vaughn Team is poised to at least equal, if not surpass the 367-transaction mark this year.   "It's very rewarding for us to be ranked this high nationally," Maurice Vaughn said.  "We attribute it to everybody working together as a team. There is no single individual that could accomplish this."

The Vaughn Team, consists of buyers' agents, listing agents and administrative assistants.The Vaughn Team has been one of the more aggressive, visible real estate sales groups in Clarksville during the past few years, using a wide spectrum of advertising resources to spread its message.  People such as Bob Tidwell, Jackie Groves and Kathy Sensing, among others, have been crucial to the ranking, Maurice Vaughn said.

Maurice said good people and good marketing strategies, have worked hand-in-hand, and to reflect the diverse demands of its global customer base, the Vaughn Group, earlier this year changed their name to "thevaughnteam.com.  "That's just to put more emphasis on our Web site," he said. "We have been trying for quite some time to do a lot of innovative marketing, much of it in the newspaper and over the Internet. When a homeowner lists their house with us, that listing goes to a lot of different places — over The Leaf-Chronicle site, Google, Yahoo, and numerous others.

"It takes a combination of all kinds of marketing avenues. You have to get your name out there in this business, as part of that we've all tried to be involved in the community. I'm a firm believer you should give back to the community that has been so good to us. Amanda Vaughn noted that, because of the Web, our NUMBER1 EXPERT web site with virtual home tours, and tons of local information, some customers are buying homes site-unseen.
"I've had probably four people contact us through the Internet and buy through our virtual tours," she said. "One couple was in Japan."   "And one," Terri Vaughn said, "in London right now is close to signing."
It certainly didn't hurt THEVAUGHNTEAM.COM' sales tallies that, in 2005, they were selling in one of the fastest-growing markets in the state, if not the nation.  "We have been very blessed this past year," Maurice Vaughn said of his group's latest recognition. "With as many military personnel as we had in Iraq in 2005, and still to perform and sell as many houses as we were able to, just attest to the dedicated members of THEVAUGHNTEAM.COM and the training Keller Williams Realty International furnishes all agents.

An 8-year veteran of the Real Estate Business, Terri puts her organizing skills to good use. Operational and financial systems are put in place and revised as needed, along with those duties Terri is in charge with marketing the 350+ homes a year listed by the Vaughn Team. Toni has lived in Springfield, TN with her husband, Ray, for 17 years. Prior to joining The Vaughn Team, she was the Market Center Administrator for Keller Williams in Hendersonville for three years. She brings over 25 years of accounting and office management skills to the team. She has two beautiful Golden Retrievers, Maggie and Barney, who love boating and convertible riding for family fun outings.

Venessa has made Clarksville her home for the past 16 years. She and her husband Scott have 3 wonderful children. Her years of experience as a mortgage loan processor, working in a title company and as a licensed real estate agent have given her a plethora of knowledge and understanding of the real estate business. She considers herself a team player who is dedicated to making clients' move a smooth transition.
 

Kathy Sensing

A native Clarksvillian and APSU Alumnus is married with three children and four grandchildren. She is an active church member and enjoys traveling and visiting with family. She held the position of Administrative Assistant for a team at Keller Williams for 2 1/2 years before becoming an active "Realtor". She brings many administrative and management skills to the real estate business. Before engaging in the real estate business, she held the position of Purchasing Agent for 24 years for a local zinc refinery in Clarksville. She has met and worked with a lot of people and she brings many administrative and management skills to the team and the real estate business. Brenda moved to Clarksville in 1999 when her father was stationed at Fort Campbell. Currently, she attends Austin Peay State University majoring in Nursing. In July 2007 TheVaughnTeam.Com sponsored Brenda in the North TN pageant where she was crowned and also received "The People's Choice Award" and the honor of being named "Miss Photogenic." Brenda helps our clients by creating Virtual Tours and taking numerous pictures! She also helps spread our listings across the World Wide Web and places the advertisements in The Leaf Chronicle. Alecia grew up in the Clarksville area. She spent eight years in the education field, where she utilized a variety of technology tools. She went on to receive a Master's degree in technology integration. A busy mother of two energetic little boys, Alecia enjoys spending time with her family. Raised in Texas , Angel moved to Clarksville with her father in 1992. She graduated with honors from Clarksville High School in 1996 and moved to Michigan to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. After 3 years of school, she moved back to Clarksville to help her dad with the family business, Kicker's Country Club. Through a friend and co-worker she was introduced to her future husband, Richard, a farmer in nearby Todd County, KY. They were married in 2002 and now live on a small horse farm just across the state line. Angel's career in real estate began in 2003. She is now a million-dollar producer in residential and commercial real estate. She is also an Ambassador for the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Keller-Williams Agent Leadership Council.
